how do you like them apples?

September 21, 2010

it looks like another week has gone by, so that must mean it’s time to post a new blog! (GASP!)

watch out people!

ever since i quit my nannying job and took on my own business, chris and i have been doing our best to pinch our pennies, and i feel like we’ve been doing a pretty good job at it. this weekend i decided we needed a date. but with us pinching our pennies and such, we had to get creative. i know, we’re artists, that shouldn’t be too hard.

so off to the apple orchard we went! I know what your thinking, apple orchard…date? how exciting. but it was nice to get out of the ordinary, everyday that gets us into a rut and go out and enjoy mother nature.

due to a bad storm they had a couple weeks prior, most of the apples were either already picked or on the ground rotting. so we decided to take that time to walk around and explore. with my two cameras in tow, of course.

all in all, it was a great day! we spent $12.50 on a large bag of apples that we plan on making our own apple sauce with…and you might get lucky enough to see a post about that! yay!

anyone have any good apple sauce recipes we should try??? or any other apple recipes? we’d love to hear!

sounds like fun!!!!! I LOVE the first pic of you and chris in the car!!! we went to Deana Rose Farmstead this weekend and it only costs $2 a person to get in. Very much worth it for the boys. A very cheap adventure and lots of fun pictures….you know, if you are into the whole picture thing….and I think you are ;)

You were born to take pictures, those are gorgeous! My favorite all-time apple product would have to be apple chips but I don’t know how to make them. I only know they cost $3 for a tiny bag that I devour in about 2 seconds. Love the cheap date, you guys are so cute. :)
